Douglass Academy, the tuition-free K-5 charter school at 6th & Red Cross Sts., proudly had students, parents, teachers, and staff participating in the Martin Luther King March through downtown Wilmington on January 21.

Nikki Chaney, Headmaster of Douglass Academy, commented, “Participating in the Martin Luther King March means so much to our school. Dr. King is an inspiration and hero to us all.” She continued, “Douglass Academy is changing the world one great education at a time. We like to dream big and no one dreamed bigger than Martin Luther King.”

Douglass Academy is one of four public charter schools managed by The Roger Bacon Academy, Inc. founded in 1999 by education pioneer Baker Mitchell. The other schools include Charter Day School in Leland, Columbus Charter School in Whiteville, and South Brunswick Charter School in Southport with a combined enrollment of over 2,100 students in K-8. All four are tuition-free, charter schools that welcome all students, regardless of income, ability, or address.  To learn more or enroll online, please visit EnrollRBA.com
